Another late post, so this would be for last week.
With this drug I seem to be doing better, which is a relief, I think it is also very reassuring for the kids to know how I am doing and they can see I have more energy to boss them around and scold them and play and read to them, but mostly the other things.
I do have some slightly different side-effects which I am managing but nothing significant. One downside of the reduced feeling of exhaustion is that I am having more difficulty going back to sleep when I wake up in the night..so I am thinking I might have to break the seal on the sleeping pills.
Other than that so far so good. I did have one thing that I didn't post on the prior week's message on the first treatment. Because my red blood count is low, I had another injection to boost me up. That was THE MOST PAINFUL INJECTION I have ever had, and I've had a few. And since the dosage I needed did not come in one syringe, I had to get TWO to make the correct dosage.
But so far so good, I am hoping that I can feel improvements as I go along further in the treatment.

I look forward to the children's book coming out based on this trial.

I am hanging in there! I did break the seal on the sleeping pill and my expert hubby has advised me that since I don't have trouble falling asleep..even with the lights on...and a book in my hand, then I should get a pill that works more on keeping me asleep.
Kev - funny thing is, I distinctly recall wondering if I'd have enough to write about when I started blogging - funny how things work.

You seem to be doing really well. What diet are you currently following? Did you make any changes to your lifestyle after you found out you had breast cancer?
Keep us up to date.
I am sorry to hear about your loss.
Shortly before I was diagnosed we were eating more vegetarian and I was exercising more. That has been derailed somewhat because of the effects of chemo (I've basically have to eat whatever I can stomach and I've been too tired to exercise). Once I am done, we will do much more of vegetarian and low glycemic diet (high on fruits and vegetables, low on processed foods). And of course go into exercise mode again.
In addition, I will be loading up on antioxidants (something I have to be careful about doing now since it interferes with the chemo drugs).
There is a lot of information about the above, 'the cancer diet' or variations of it, but it is in fact the way everybody should be eating.
Take care,
Thanks,
